CamRemote Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 15, 2026

CamRemote, developed by Istrocode, is a remote control for Canon EOS cameras, available for iOS and Android. It is built to work entirely between your phone and your camera.

Data collection

CamRemote itself collects no data about you beyond what's described below. The app has no user accounts and does not track you across other apps or websites. The Android version uses Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics and shows banner ads through third-party ad networks (see the sections below); the iOS version does neither. Otherwise, the app makes no network connections other than to the camera you connect it to on your local network.

Analytics & crash reporting (Android)

The Android version of CamRemote uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, both provided by Google, to understand how the app is used and to diagnose crashes. These collect technical information such as app usage events (screens viewed, features used), device model and OS version, crash logs and stack traces, and device/app identifiers. This data is processed by Google under its own privacy policy and is never linked to your camera, photos, or camera-connection data. The iOS version does not include this SDK and collects nothing of this kind.

Advertising (Android)

The Android version of CamRemote shows banner ads through LevelPlay (Unity/ironSource) ad mediation, which serves ads from LevelPlay's own network as well as these third-party ad networks:

To select, serve, and measure these ads, LevelPlay and these networks may collect device identifiers (such as your advertising ID), general device information (model, OS version), and approximate location derived from your IP address. None of your camera photos, videos, or camera-connection data is ever shared with these networks. On Android, you can review or change which ad partners you consent to at any time from the app's About screen. The iOS version shows no ads and includes no ad SDKs.

What stays on your device

The app stores a small amount of information locally on your phone so it can reconnect to your camera:

This information never leaves your device and is deleted when you remove the app (or use Forget Camera for the Bluetooth pairing).

Permissions the app requests

Each permission is used solely for the stated purpose.

Photos and camera data

Photos, videos, live view images, and camera settings are transferred directly from the camera to your phone over your local network or Bluetooth. They are never uploaded anywhere by the app.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at the same location with a new date.
